Ricky Hower

Mr. Ricky L. Hower, age 57, of Vidalia, died Monday, January 17, 2022, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital after a sudden illness.  He was a native of the Ohoopee Community, a 1982 graduate of Lyons Senior High School, and moved to Vidalia several years ago.  He worked with his father in the family logging and construction business as a heavy equipment operator.  He retired from Edwin I. Hatch Plant after twenty-five years.  He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Vidalia.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and running heavy equipment.  He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Hower; one brother, David Allen Hower; and stepfather, Robert Doyle.

His family includes his son, Allan “Bubba” Hower and wife Brittany; two grandchildren, Chloe Hower and Riley Hower, all of Lyons; his mother, Nancy J. Doyle of Ohoopee; one brother, Brian Hower and wife Ashley of Ohoopee; one sister, Krista Hower Strickland and husband Jonathan of Cobbtown; and two nieces, Olivia Waters and Ashley Mock.

A memorial service will be Saturday, January 22, 2022, 2:00 p.m. via zoom.
