Obituary

Mr. Richard D. Goodman, age 62, of the Kibbee Community, died Friday, May 5, 2023, at his home after an extended illness.  Richard was born November 6, 1960, in Savannah, to the late Ralph Dean Goodman and Margaret Pearl Cowart Goodman.  His father was in the military, and as a child, he and his family lived in several places around the country before he moved to Vidalia in 1989.  He was a residential painter and was Baptist by faith.  He was passionate about music, and would take any opportunity to play drums and guitar with his friends. 

His family includes two children, Amanda Baker and her husband Junior, and John NeSmith, all of Savannah; one sister, Julie Taylor and her fiancé Allen Wilburn of Kibbee; one brother, Joseph Goodman of Denton, Texas; four grandchildren, Kyla Goodman, Cole Baker, Corey Baker, and Khloe Baker, all of Savannah; one niece, Jessie James and her husband Ryan of East Dublin; and one nephew, Ray Taylor and his wife Ashley of Lawrenceville.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 9th, at 3:00 p.m. at Tarrytown City Cemetery with Reverend Ronnie McLemore officiating.
