Mr. Richard Ward Galbreath, age 60, of the South Thompson Community, died Monday, February 14, 2022. He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County. He was a 1980 graduate of Lyons Senior High School and graduated Southeastern Technical College with certification in HVAC. He was also a certified electrician and welder, as well as skilled mechanic, carpenter, and plumber. He had been employed by Register Insulation for many years before leaving to work for himself. He was a member of New Corinth Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting Hot Wheels, and was known as a "Gentle Giant" by nature. His father, Samuel Washington Galbreath, precedes him in death.
His family includes his mother, Nana Galbreath of Vidalia; three siblings, Tim Galbreath of Vidalia, Tina Galbreath Howell of South Thompson, and Mary Galbreath Willis and husband Jerry of Vidalia; six nieces and nephews, Scott Howell and wife Wynette, Chris Howell, Kalli Howell (Jake Pineo), Greg Harter and wife Marlee, Sarah Holloway and Stephanie Willis (Chris Foskey); and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
A graveside funeral service will be Saturday, February 26th, at 3:00 p.m. at Galbreath Cemetery with Bishop Gilbert Wommack officiating.
