Reverend Wade McBride, age 75, of the Pendleton Springs Community, died Friday, November 1, 2019, in Serenity Hospice in Dublin, after a brief illness. He was a native of Twin City, growing up as a child in Millen, before moving to Pendleton Springs in 1973. He worked as a truck driver with Piggly Wiggly Southern for twenty-seven years, Howard Sheppard as a truck driver for nine years and Standard Sand where he retired after ten years. He started his ministry in the mid 1960’s and currently was the pastor of Cool Springs Baptist Church in Emanuel County. He enjoyed woodworking, mechanicing and working in his shop. He was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Joseph Wade McBride; parents, Kenneth Edward McBride and Thelma Louise Oglesby McBride; six siblings, Kenneth McBride, Ann Skrine, Bobby McBride and Betty Joyce Skrine, and two infant brothers, Gary McBride and Billy McBride.
Reverend McBride is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Edith Dryden McBride of Pendleton Springs; two sons, Josh McBride and wife Rhonda, and Adam McBride and wife Melonie of Pendleton Springs; one brother, Johnny McBride and wife Jackie of Waynesboro; six grandchildren, Dalton McBride, Kenna McBride, Logan McBride, Grace McBride, Sarah Grace McBride and Rainie McBride; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 6th, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Owen Waters and Reverend Walter Jarrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Pendleton Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Vic Fordham.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
