Rebecca "Becky" (Neal) Kirkland

Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” Kirkland, age 80, of Vidalia, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia, and was surrounded by her family when she passed. She was born in Warm Springs, Georgia and as a child moved to Tattnall County. Later, she moved to Byron and was a 1963 graduate of Byron High School. She lived in Vidalia most of her life; she earned an associate degree from Middle Georgia College in Cochran, and retired after twenty-two years from Pineland Mental Health in Vidalia. Mrs. Kirkland was Baptist by faith, and she enjoyed the outdoors, fishing at the coast with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren. 

Mrs. Kirkland is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Kirkland; and parents, McCormick “Mack” Neal and Mary Frances Chipman Neal.

She is survived by two children, Rodney Kirkland and wife Kim of Spring, Texas, and Kathy Kirkland Cartrette and husband Greg of Vidalia; one brother, Steve Neal and wife Bonnie of Byron; one sister, Nancy Neal Ellis and husband “Dutch” of Charlestown, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Allisa Cartrette and Alexis Cartrette of Vidalia, and Emma Kirkland and Caroline Kirkland of Spring, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Walker Parrish and Wrenleigh Cartrette; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20th, 2025, at 12:00 noon, in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Philip Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
