Mr. Randy James, age 71, of Lyons, died Saturday, November 2, 2019, in the Community Hospice in Vidalia, after an extended illness. He was a native of Augusta and was a 1966 graduate of Hephzibah High School. He was a pipefitter, a member of Local #150 and had recently received his fifty year membership certificate. He and his wife were owners of Smith’s Fried Chicken in Reidsville. Randy was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Lyons and Vidalia/Lyons Moose Lodge #1217. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Oscar James and Margaret Jewel Weeks James.
Mr. James is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Joyce Howell James of Lyons; three children, Ronnie Beasley, Jason Beasley and Caiden Beasley, all of Lyons; two brothers, Mickey James and wife Cindy of North Augusta, South Carolina, and Toby James of Martinez; two sisters, Gina Shapiro and husband Steve and Tammie Dyson, all of Augusta; four grandchildren, Alexandra Beasley, Addie Eanes, Bailey Eanes and Ellie Eanes; several nieces, nephews and a special friend, Don Boteler.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 5th, at 3:00 p.m. in Fairview Baptist Church with Pastor Glenn Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Fairview Baptist on Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
