Ralph E. Denmark

Mr. Ralph E. Denmark, age 85, of the Johnson Corner Community, died Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and lived in Johnson Corner all of his life.  He retired from the Toombs County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator.  He was an active member of Edmond Chapel Church of God.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing in his flowers beds, music, playing his guitar, singing, and he had an infectious laugh.  He is preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Virginia Norfleet Denmark; one son, James “P-John” Norfleet; one daughter, Debbie Norfleet Sanders; parents, Payne Denmark and Eula Partin Denmark; and a brother-in-law, Troy Hightower.

His family includes three sons, Melvin Denmark and wife Michelle of Vidalia, Mark Denmark, and Benji Denmark and wife Kristi, all of Johnson Corner; three sisters, Annie Ruth Gay and husband Wendell, Grace Hightower, and Nellie Earl Hale; one brother, Edward Denmark and wife Janette, all of Johnson Corner; six grandchildren, Melayna, Katie, Hope, Bradley, Cole, and Conlee; two great-grandchildren, Winrey and Crash; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Sunday afternoon, September 22nd, at 5:00 at Edmond Chapel Church of God with Pastor Nathan Pittman officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at Edmond Chapel Church of God on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until just prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Alan Kight, Cody Williams, Jermaine Denmark, Mann Denmark, Thomas Denmark, and Eric Nease.
