Penny Willis Connell, age 55 of the Normantown Community, died Saturday, May 23, 2020, at her mother’s home, after an extended illness. Penny was born in Lyons, spending a few years in Toombs County before moving to East Palatka, Florida and moved to Normantown ten years ago. Before she became disabled, she loved to fish, the beach and to travel. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laurie Ann Morse; father, Wade “Buddy” Willis; two sisters, Robin Lyn Willis Matthews and Marcy Willis Brunson; one brother, Jason Willis; maternal grandparents, Floyd and Ruth Alexander; and paternal grandparents, Remer and Mazie Willis.
Penny is survived by one son, Daniel Connell of South Carolina; her mother, Helen Alexander Willis; one granddaughter, Zoey Connell; three sisters, Victoria Stephenson of Normantown, Pam Willis Tilton of East Palatka, and Janice Willis Humphrey of Palm Coast, Florida; two brothers, Alan Willis and Jack Willis, both of Normantown.
A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, May 24th, at 2:00 p.m. in Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Pastor Michael Plowman officiating.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
