Peggy (Griffin) Poole

Mrs. Peggy Poole, age 78, of Lyons, died Tuesday, June 26, 2018, in Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, after an extended illness.  She was a lifelong resident of Lyons and was a 1957 graduate of Lyons High School.  She was a homemaker and attended the Lyons Church of God of Prophecy.  She enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and piano, and singing.  Mrs. Poole collected stringed instruments and glassworks.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Eunice Bryson Griffin; and two brothers, Wayne Griffin, and Billy Griffin.

Mrs. Poole is survived by her husband of sixty years, Billy Poole of Lyons; three sons, Timmy Poole and wife Shirlee of Johnson Corner, Tony Poole and wife Janet of Lyons, and Tommy Poole and wife Trish of Johnson Corner; one daughter, Tammy Bell and husband Kevin of Soperton; eight grandchildren, Chris Poole and wife April of Lafayette, Casey Poole and wife Dr. Misty of Johnson Corner, Jennifer Poole and Joni Poole both of Augusta, Toni Cheyenne Poole of Statesboro, Jada Davis and husband Jeff of Louisville, Josh Poole and wife Brittany of Cedar Crossing, and Sarah Hornback of Lexington, Kentucky; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 27th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Poppell officiating. Burial will follow in Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
