Mrs. Peggy Morris Corbin, age 70, of Lyons, died Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after a brief illness. She was a native of Toombs County, living in Burke County and in Lyons and Vidalia most of her life. She was a 1972 graduate of Vidalia High School. She began her nursing career in 1987 as an LPN, and later became an RN, earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Augusta State University. She worked at several facilities, including Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, and Doctors Hospital in Augusta. She was a member of East Gordon Street Baptist Church in Lyons. Peggy enjoyed her sport cars, going to the beach and mountains, and cooking for her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilmott “Pete” Morris and Nina Willis Morris; and three siblings, Scotty Morris, Marilyn Morris, and Russell Morris.
Her family includes her husband of fifty-three years, Donald T. Corbin of Lyons; one daughter, Tiffany Corbin Thornton and husband Collis; one granddaughter, Anna Peyton Thornton; one brother, Jerry Morris and wife Bobbie, all of Lyons; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held later.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to East Gordon Street Baptist Church, 167 East Gordon Ave., Lyons, GA 30436.
