Mrs. Pauline James, age 86, of the Mt. Moriah Community, died Monday, August 31, 2020, in The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was born in Ft. Valley and as a child moved to Reidsville where she lived most of her life. She was a homemaker; she enjoyed her family, cooking, and in her early years, working with her husband in the field. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl James, Sr.; a granddaughter, Carla James; her parents, Cleophas Leroy “C.L.” Keen and Ella Elizabeth Bryan Keen; one brother, James Keen; and two sisters, Betty Ruth Hobbs and Doris Edenfield.
Mrs. James is survived by two children, Carline Taylor and husband Charles, and Carl James, Jr., all of Mt. Moriah; one sister, Pam Garrett of Lincolnton, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Paula Copeland and husband Bobby of Mt. Moriah, Alisha Watson and husband Ryan of Warner Robins, and Jessie Jones of Washington State; four great-grandchildren, Ramsi Copeland and wife Joni of Keysville, Raegan Biddle and husband Tyler of Vidalia, Payton Parrish and Noah Watson, both of Washington; two great-great-granddaughters, Cade and Ellarae Biddle; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 2nd, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow later in the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church Cemetery.
