Patricia "Pat" (Massey) Kirkland

Mrs. Patricia Massey “Pat” Kirkland, age 79, of Vidalia, died Monday, May 6, 2019, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia.  She was born in Savannah and lived most of her life in Toombs County.  She retired from Georgia State Prison in Reidsville as a correctional officer and as an emergency medical technician.  Pat was a member of the Hammonds Missionary Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Kirkland; and parents, Arthur James Massey and Sadie Lee Wrye Massey.

Mrs. Kirkland is survived by three children, John Edward Kirkland and wife Tricia of Vidalia, Arthur W. “Sam” Kirkland and wife Thelma of Montana, and Lee Ann Kirkland and David Durrence of Savannah; three grandchildren, Jennifer Cannon and husband John of Vidalia, Maria Youmans and husband Levi of Adrian, and John Dallas Durrence of Savannah; six great-grandchildren, Tilar, Chloe, Desirae, Noah, Haley, and Levi; one brother, John Charles “J.C.” Massey and wife Eveline of Lyons; one sister, Dorothy Massey of Macon; several nieces and nephews; sister/best friend, Willie Young; and close friend, Christal White.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 9th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Kirkland officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00.
