Patricia (McLemore) Usher

Mrs. Patricia McLemore Usher, age 90, of the New Branch Community, died Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after a brief illness. She was a native of Toombs County, growing up in Vidalia, and was a 1954 graduate of Vidalia High School. She married her husband, and they moved to New Branch in 1955. She was a homemaker and a member of Vidalia Church of God where she sang in the choir and served as church secretary. She enjoyed cooking and feeding whoever walked in her home, camping in the Smoky Mountains and at Hilton Head Island.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben Hill Usher; son-in-law, Ronnie Youmans; parents, William “Bill” McLemore and Ella Williamson McLemore; one sister, Betty Kate McLemore Todd; and two brothers, Billy McLemore and John “Pee Wee” McLemore.

Mrs. Usher is survived by three daughters, Ann Usher Lewis and husband Donnie, Debbie Usher Youmans, and Janice Usher Sammons and husband Ricky, all of New Branch; five grandchildren, Lori Lewis and Greg Horton of Vidalia, Jennifer Corbitt and husband Andy of Nichols, Lacey Thigpen and husband Alan of the Ohoopee Community, Amanda Edwards and husband Jeffery of New Branch, and Ben Sammons and Taylor Colson of Statesboro; seventeen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Elouise Seidel; two brothers, Gene McLemore and wife Sue Ellen, and Mercer McLemore and wife Phanetta; one brother-in-law, Toby Todd; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth McLemore, all of Vidalia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Friday afternoon, April 17th, 2026, at 3:00 at Vidalia Church of God with Pastor Josh May officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Ben Sammons, Austin Lewis, A.J. Corbitt, Trent Corbitt, Tyler Best, Connor Thigpen, Adam Edwards, Jacob Edwards, Eli Edwards, and Koda King.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Vidalia Church of God, 401 Adams St., Vidalia, GA 30474.
