Patricia Lee (Spence) Jones

Mrs. Patricia Lee Spence Jones, age 82, of Vidalia, died Sunday, May 21, 2023, at The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia after an extended illness.  She was a native of Savannah, moving to Soperton for several years before moving to Vidalia in 1973.  She worked at Tumi Luggage and Savannah Luggage Works, and she and her husband were owners of J.J.’s BBQ in Vidalia.  She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.  She was a sympathetic caregiver, was always selfless, and had a wonderful sense of humor.  Preceding her in death was her husband, Roy Gerald “Jerry” Jones; parents, Max James Spence and Anis Ophelia Helms Spence; one sister, Mae Spence Mayes; and four brothers, James Gould Spence, Milton Spence, Frank Spence, and Lummie Spence.

Her family includes four loving girls, Judy Jones Gibbs and husband David of Lyons, Bonnie Jones Zorn and husband Pastor Danny of Waterboro, South Carolina, Janice Jones Dollar and husband Lester of Dublin, and Becky Jones Barfield and husband Nathan of Vidalia; one sister, Dorothy Spence Futch of Brunswick; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The graveside funeral service will be Tuesday afternoon May 23rd, at 4:00 p.m. at Pine Crest Cemetery with her Pastor Danny Zorn officiating.
