Mrs. Patricia Diane Collins Woods, age 73, of Lyons, died Sunday, April 26, 2026, at The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia following an extended illness. She was born on October 30, 1952, in Amarillo, Texas to the late Jack Dillard Collins and Phyllis Marie Gregg Collins. As a child, the family moved to Akron, Ohio and she graduated in 1970 from Cuyahoga Falls High School and soon after graduated from cosmetology school in Akron. Later, she moved to California, from there to Phoenix, Arizona, and graduated from dental hygiene school. She moved to Gainesville, Florida where she lived for many years before moving to Lyons in 2007. She worked in retail at Dillard’s in Gainesville and Belk in Vidalia. She was a school bus driver for the Toombs County Board of Education. She was a member of Lyons Free Will Baptist Church, and she enjoyed puzzles and her dogs.
She is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Jimmy Woods of Lyons; one stepdaughter, Dana Lanette Woods of Vidalia; five siblings, Janet Collins Wyscarver of Orlando, Florida, Richard Collins and wife Shauna of Key Stone Heights, Florida, Michael Collins of Tucson, Arizona, Janice Collins Vogel of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Darlene Collins Givin and husband Scott of Rayleigh, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, at 3:00 at Lyons Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Wilson officiating.
