Mrs. Ola Mae Wilkes, age 81, of Evans, Georgia, died Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Piedmont Augusta, following an extended illness. She was a native of Wheeler County where she lived until 1959. She married her late husband, and they lived in several places in the southeast, and she has lived in Evans since 2007. She was a homemaker and was a former member of Snow Hill Baptist Church in Wheeler County. She is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Talmadge Wilkes; and five brothers and sisters.
Her family includes three children, Greg Wilkes and wife Gina of the Long Pond Community, Terry Wilkes of Grovetown, and Tonya Wilkes Garrett and husband Michael of Evans; five grandchildren, Nick Garrett and wife Holly of Wilmington Island, Brandy Wilkes, Vince Wilkes of Grovetown, Eric Wilkes of Macon, and Trent Wilkes of Stone Mountain; one great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
The funeral service will be Saturday, November 9th, 2024, at 3:00 in the chapel Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Randall Tarpley officiating. Burial will follow at Galbreath Cemetery near Alston.
