Obituary

Ms. Norma Dixon, age 76, of Tattnall County and formerly of Toombs County, died Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at The Griffin House Assisted Living in Claxton following a brief illness.  She was born and grew up in Wilkesboro, Pennsylvania, and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Georgia College of Milledgeville.  She lived most of her life in Toombs County until moving to Tattnall County twenty years ago.  She retired after thirty-three years as Substance Abuse Counselor from Pineland Mental Health.  She was Methodist by faith, and she enjoyed shopping and reading.  Preceding her in death were her parents, Kenneth and Bessie MacMillan.

Her family includes one son, Derek Dixon and wife Jennifer of Ringgold; two grandchildren, Kaleb Dixon and Gabby Dixon; and one brother, Charles MacMillan.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, March 23rd, from 5:00 until 7:00.
