Mrs. Nancy B. McNames, age 87, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at her home. She was a native of Atlanta and a 1955 graduate of Murphy High School in Atlanta. She worked for more than twenty years with Robinson-Humphrey Brokerage firm in Atlanta, and she lived in Atlanta until moving to Vidalia in 1982. She founded J-Mac Embroidery in Vidalia in 1985, and the business continues to operate with her son as owner. She was Methodist by faith, and she enjoyed houseplants, shopping, reading, watching classic movies and her furbabies. She is preceded in death by her husband, John K. McNames; parents, Hubbard Chauncey Boykin and Mary Evelyn McElheney Boykin; and a brother, Hubbard C. Boykin, Jr.
Her family includes four children, Ernie Edmondson and wife Lorri of Vidalia, Mark Edmondson of Reidsville, Jon Edmondson and wife Candace of Dothan, Alabama, and John Dale McNames and wife Kelli of Jacksonville, Florida; two brothers, Jack Boykin of Vidalia and Neil Boykin of Gainesville, Georgia; three grandchildren, Tiffany Caraway of Vidalia, Christina Spicer and husband Will of Dothan, and Sydney Edmondson of Dothan; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Spicer and Savannah Spicer.
The funeral service will be Tuesday afternoon, March 11th at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Toole officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 1:30 until just prior to the service.
