Miss Nan Oliver Price, age 83, of Lyons, died Monday, November 15, 2021, at Memorial Health in Savannah after a brief illness. She was born April 19, 1938, to the late James Emory Price and Encil Oliver Price. She was a native of Toombs County and lived in Lyons most of her life. Nan was a 1956 graduate of Lyons High School, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from Georgia Southern in Statesboro. She taught at Toombs Central School and Lyons High School, retiring after thirty years. She was a member of the Georgia Retired Teachers Association, an active member of The Oaks Baptist Church in Lyons, the Lyons Lions Club, and was chosen Lyons Citizen of the Year.
She is survived by numerous cousins and friends.
The funeral service will be Sunday, November 21st, at 3:00 p.m. in The Oaks Baptist Church with Pastor Christian Burton officiating. Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
