Mr. Mike Selph, age 68, of Mt. Vernon, died Friday, May 16, 2025, at Memorial Health in Savannah following an extended illness. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 2, 1956, and as a child moved to Montgomery County. He attended Montgomery High School and lived in Mt. Vernon and Ailey most of his life. He was a motor grader operator with Reeves Construction for several years and the Montgomery County Road Department where he retired. He and his wife are owners of “Fuzzys” Family Restaurant in Mt. Vernon. He enjoyed the outdoors, mud bogging, and racing. He is preceded in death by his parents, Strozier Mack Selph and Willie Pearl Hilliard Selph; the grandmother who raised him “Honey Man”, “Ma” Ethel Gunn Selph; and sister, Maxine Selph Griner.
His family includes his wife of 43 years, Rosie M. Selph of Mt. Vernon; eight children, Michael Selph Sellers and Julie of East Dublin, Henry Michael Selph, Jr., Strozier Mack Selph, both of Alabama, Michelle Selph of Vidalia, Nichole Selph and Stacy Smallpiece of Mt. Vernon, Rachel Najera and husband Daniel of Vidalia, “Bubba” Selph, Marie Selph Sharpton and husband Scott, all of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Debra Selph Spivey and husband James of Dublin; Rickie “Cuz” Wesberry; brother-in-law, Russell Griner of Soperton; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Brent Holcombe officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers are “Bubba” Selph, Michael Selph Sellers, Ashton Sanders, Logan Boyd, “BB” Boyd, Payton Gross, Broady Selph, and Spencer Sharpton.
