Mike Harlin Obituary

Mr. Mike Harlin, age 58, of Lyons, died Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Memorial Health University Medical Center Savannah, after a brief illness. He was a native of Anniston, Alabama, a 1979 graduate of Saks High School in Anniston.  He moved to Toombs County in 1985 and worked as a firefighter with Vidalia Fire Department.  He began his career with the Toombs County Sheriff’s Department in 1994 and retired as Captain in 2019.  Mike was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons, Police Officer’s Association, and Defenders Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club in Dublin.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma C. Harlin  

Mr. Harlin is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Elise Harlin of Lyons; two children, Christopher A. Harlin of Florida, and Elizabeth N. Harlin of Lyons; his father, Howard Harlin and wife Ruby of Deatsville, Alabama; four grandchildren, Jacob Michael Harlin, Ella F. Erdody, William Rogers and Sarah Harlin; one uncle, William Dean “Bill” Harlin of Prattville, Alabama;  two brothers-in-law, Phil Nichols of Arkansas, and Stanley Nichols and wife Renee of Atlanta; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.   

A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, March 28th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Lyons City Cemetery with Pastor Michael Plowman officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Youth, P.O. Box 410, Lyons, GA 30436.
