Michelle Rogers Lewis, age 54, of Vidalia, died Monday, September 9, 2024, at Heritage Inn Health & Rehab in Statesboro, following an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and attended Vidalia City Schools. She was a practice assistant for Dr. Rutz in Vidalia, and she was a member of New Beginnings Church of God in Lyons where she taught Sunday school. Michelle enjoyed singing, dancing, yard sales, and fishing. She was family oriented, and was humble and selfless.
Her family includes three children, Caleb Moxley and wife Amber of Statesboro, Hunter Poole and husband Phillip Davis of Lyons, and Raven Channell and husband Chris of Laurens County; mother, Sheila Jenkins and husband Nathan of Statesboro; father, Walter Rogers and wife Sara of Bowman, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Carley, Owen, Conor, Ava, Braxton, and Case; a great-grandson to be born in February; three brothers, Billy Sells and wife Donna of Alston, Mark Rogers of Mt. Vernon, and Michael Rogers of Hazlehurst; three sisters, Manesa Jenkins of Statesboro, Brandi Jenkins and fiancé Tomer Avraham of Kennesaw, and Maria Rogers of Vidalia; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; a special cousin, Tammie Powell and sister in heart, Jasmine Hall.
The funeral service will be Thursday afternoon, September 12th, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home of Thursday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
