Mrs. Melissa Taylor “Missy” Kight, age 54, of Kibbee Community, died Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at her home after a brief illness. She was a native of Johnson Corner and had lived in Kibbee since 1997. She was a 1987 graduate of Toombs Central School. Growing up, Missy worked in her grandparent’s business, Taylor’s Grocery in Johnson Corner, and currently, she worked with Dr. Geoffery Conner for the past thirty years. She was Baptist by faith, and she enjoyed yard work, cutting grass, fishing at Lake Sinclair, but she especially loved spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her father, Ernest Dewitt Taylor, Jr.; and nephew, Kole Carter.
Her family includes her husband of twenty-six years, Johnny Kight; three children, Jessica Osborne and husband Slade, John Kight and Josie Kight, all of Kibbee; mother, Jeanette Williamson Taylor of Lyons; two sisters, Debra Taylor of Johnson Corner and Jennifer Dennis and husband Freddy of the English Eddy Community; one granddaughter, Sadie Rae Osborne of Kibbee; her mother-in-law, Margie Kight of Kibbee; one niece, Brandi Hardiman; three nephews, Kyle Taylor, Kody Powell and Brandon Dennis.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be Saturday afternoon, November 11th, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Blake Hardiman and Reverend David Blalock officiating. Burial will follow at South Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery.
