Melissa D. Foskey, age 45, of Toombs County, died Friday, November 29, 2024, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital from injuries sustained in a pedestrian accident in Vidalia. She was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and attended Toombs County schools. She worked in the restaurant and service industry most of her life. Melissa was creative, very artistic, and to know her was to love her. She is preceded in death by her father, Wadys Foskey; paternal grandparents, John and Velma Foskey and maternal grandparents, H.J. and Lavonne Fowler.
Her family includes one daughter, Daisy Manning and Tory Lamb; granddaughter, Blakely Lamb; mother, Dianne Fowler Dees and husband Louie, all of Cedar Crossing; one sister, Melinda Pittman and husband Marty of Uvalda; one brother, Stephen Foskey and wife Heather of Cedar Crossing; nieces, Sara Woehrle and husband Coleman of Seattle, Washington; Bessie Coleman and husband Bob of Higgston; Hannah Morgan and husband Demetrius of Portland, Maine, Emily Pittman and Bailey Thompson of Uvalda; nephews, Ryan Galbreath, Jaxon, John, and Duke Foskey; one great-niece, Eleanor Denmark; two nephews, Rowan Coleman and Easton Thompson; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be Tuesday morning, December 3rd, 2024, at 10:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Toole officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Crossing Cemetery.
