There was nothing more she loved than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They truly were the light of her life and they knew it as she doted on and told them constantly. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley Helms; six brothers, Houston, Jr., Melvin, Wendell, William, Buddy, and Billy Joe Sharpe; and two sisters, Alice Sharpe Watts and Mary Sharpe Toler.
Her family includes her loving husband of thirty years, Jack Day; children, Rodney Helms and wife Leigh Anne, and Michael Helms and wife Charlotte; three grandchildren, Hunter, Brent, and Adrianna Helms; one great-granddaughter, Kensley Helms, all of Ailey; bonus children, Mike Day and Randy Day and wife Alicia, all of Uvalda; several bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Carlene Sharpe McBride and husband Gene of Mt. Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Friday, February 28th, 2025, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Reece Mincey and Pastor Owen Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Long Pond Cemetery near Uvalda.
