Matthew William Scott

Mr. Matthew “LA” William Scott, age 49, of Kingsland, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina due to a sudden illness. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, moving to Toombs County, Georgia in the 90’s where he spent most of his life. He was truck driver by trade and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He never met a stranger and loved everyone. He had a passion for showing and taking care of dogs, riding his motorcycle, and sitting in a deer stand. He was a member of Crooked River Baptist Church of Kingsland. 

He will be forever remembered for his kind heart, vibrant spirit, and the unconditional love he so generously shared with his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. His compassion, strength, and selfless devotion will remain a lasting source of comfort, and his memory will be cherished with love in our hearts forever.

He is preceded in death by his father Rodney Scott and mother Pearl Williams Scott of Lyons, GA. 

Matthew is survived by his 5 daughters, Ambree McKim and fiancé Chris Usher of Vidalia, GA, Lexy Rentz of Baxley, GA, Pearl Scott and fiancé Colby Weeks of Soperton, GA, Shawnie Scott of Daytona Beach, FL, and Adrian Scott and husband Juan Parrasanchez of Norfolk, VA; brother, Leonard Scott and wife Angela of California; sister, Genia Scott Daughtry and husband Rob of Gray, GA; grandchildren, Braxton Chaca, Becklyn Chaca, Ivey Usher, and Cohen Weeks. 

The memorial service will be held Friday, August 7th, 2026, at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Toole officiating.
