Mary W. Lindsey, age 83, of Lyons, died Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County and lived in Lyons most of her life. She was a sewing machine operator at Oxford Industries and was a waitress. She was a member of Lyons Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets, and watching the Price is Right. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arlie Daniel “A.D.” Lindsey and Martha Brunelle McLeod Lindsey; and three siblings, David W. Lindsey, Paul Lindsey, and Pam Lindsey.
Her family includes one son, Cordell “Dell” Stallings of Lyons; three grandsons, Douglas Franklin of Lyons, Jacob Stallings of Palatka, Florida, and Josh Stallings of Lyons; two brothers, J.D. “Buddy” Lindsey and wife Geraldine of Lyons, and Tommy Lindsey and wife Sue of Chester; one sister, Madie Copeland and husband Herbert of the Blue Ridge Community; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 1:30 until 2:30.
A graveside funeral service will be Friday afternoon, November 1st, 2024, at 3:00 at Lyons City Cemetery.
