Mary Linda McCrimmon Jones, age 71, of Eastman, died peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2020, in Memorial Hospital in Savannah. She was born in Lyons, grew up in Montgomery County and was a 1966 graduate of Montgomery County High School where she played basketball and was named Most Valuable Player. She lived in several places during her life, including Hawaii before making Eastman her home thirty years ago. She was baptized in the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Vernon in 1959 and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Eastman and formerly served as church pianist. She was an accomplished pianist and musician. She was a regular attendee at the Senior Citizen’s Center in Eastman; and she loved her family, friends neighbors and caretakers in Eastman and was beloved by many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Hicks McCrimmon and Mary Bess Cummings McCrimmon; one brother, Emmett Ray McCrimmon; and one sister, Gail Johnson and husband Pete.
She is survived by one sister, Shirley Mathis and husband Marvin of Jones County; and seven nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 10th, at 1:00 p.m. in the Liberty Baptist Church, 1100 Chester Hwy., Eastman, GA
Burial will follow at a later date in Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
