Mary Ann Aguilar Obituary

Mrs. Mary Ann Mead Aguilar, age 76, of Fleming Island, Florida, died Sunday, February 26, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was a native of Toombs County, where she grew up, and was a 1964 graduate of Toombs Central School and was Miss Toombs Central that year.  She lived in Mission, Texas, St. Charles County, Missouri, and Warner Robins before moving to Fleming Island in 2016.  She was a licensed cosmetologist.  When she could, she attended Edmond Chapel Church of God; the church was always on her heart and mind.  She enjoyed sewing, interior decorating, reading, cooking, and she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Kim Usher; parents, Riley Mead and Velma Martin Mead; and five siblings, Louis Mead, Ray Mead, Wedis Mead Webber, Richard Mead, and Allen Mead.

Her family includes her husband of forty-three years, Henry Aguilar of Fleming Island; four children, Rebecca Miller of Tampa, Florida, Shari Davis and Ralph of Jacksonville, Florida, Melissa Aguilar of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Jason Usher of Lyons; five grandchildren, Brittany Usher and Adrian Springer of Orlando, Florida, Jacob Usher of Warner Robins, Brennan Miller of Tampa, and Collin Miller of Wesley Chapel, Florida; two great-grandchildren, Lee Polke and Honey Johnson; sister-in-law, Hazel Mead of Lyons; four siblings, Charles Mead and wife Joyce of Reidsville, Robert Mead and wife Gail of Pooler, Alvin Mead of Lyons, and Desi Ann Hamm and husband Wayne of Warner Robins; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00. 

The funeral service will be Wednesday morning, March 1st, at 11:00 at Edmond Chapel Church of God with Pastor Mark Griffis officiating.  Entombment will follow at the church cemetery.   

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Edmond Chapel Church of God, 2380 Hwy 56 East, Lyons, GA 30436.
