Mrs. Mary Tucker Lee, age 72, of Vidalia, died Monday, January 3, 2022, at Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, Florida following a brief illness. She was a native of Clay, Alabama and was a 1967 graduate of Hewitt Trussville High School in Trussville. After the death of her father, Claude, Mary lovingly took on the role of primary caregiver to her three sisters. Later, she moved to Orlando, Florida, worked as a phlebotomist, and continued her education. She also worked as a Histotechnician at Florida Hospital in Orlando, retiring after more than forty years. She was a member of Clay United Methodist Church. After retirement, she moved to Vidalia in 2007, where her primary focus became her grandchildren. She enjoyed genealogy, reading, and cross-stitching. She is preceded in death by her parents Claude Perkins Tucker and Geneva Ella Perryman Tucker; and sister, Betty Bolster.
Her family includes her husband of forty-nine years, Lee; three children, Amanda Mosley and husband Rusty, all of Vidalia, Donnie Lee and wife Susan of Lillington, North Carolina, and Gary Lee and wife Patty of Hilliard, Florida; two sisters, Elizabeth Crumpton of Pinson, Alabama, and Claudia Cochran and husband Joe of Trussville, Alabama; ten grandchildren, Austin, Ella, Ray, Denise, Kimberly, Jason, Gary Wayne, Rebecca, Kenny, and Jennifer; thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and another to be born soon, and several nieces and nephews.
As Mary was such a prolific reader of many genres of books, in lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ohoopee Regional Library System, 166 West Liberty Ave., Lyons, GA 30436.
