Mrs. Mary Frances Brantley, age 82, of Lyons, died Sunday, November 14, 2021, at her home after an extended illness. She was a native of Decatur, Alabama and has lived in Toombs County since the mid 1960s. She was a homemaker and had worked as a sewing machine operator at Lyons Manufacturing. She was a member of East Gordon Street Baptist Church and was a former member of Cobb Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed the outdoors, flowers, fishing and watching wrestling. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert D. Brantley; parents, Verbon Davis and Gertrude Collins Davis; an aunt who raised her, Olemae Segars; and several siblings.
Her family includes four children, Debra Cotney of Palestine, Texas, Randy Blankenship and Mary Rewis of Cobbtown, Darlene Brantley and Donald D. Brantley, both of Lyons; three grandchildren, Tisha Cotney of Palestine, Texas, Kenny Mackinnon and Misty Quinn, both of Baxley; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday, November 18th, at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Conner and Pastor Rusty Wooten officiating. Burial will follow at the Cobb Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00.
