Mrs. Martha Poole Rotundo, age 89, of Uvalda, died Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, following an extended illness. She was a native of Montgomery County, grew up in Uvalda, and attended Montgomery County schools. She worked several years as a paraprofessional at Montgomery County High School, was a member of Charlotte Church, and she enjoyed growing flowers, cooking, and being a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Cleuse Poole and Lacy Estelle Kersey Poole; and four siblings, A.C. “Junior” Poole, Llewlyn Poole, Margaret Poole Humphrey, and Bobby Poole.
Her family includes four children, Pam Rotundo of Uvalda, Joy Cox of Glenwood, Vicki Rotundo of Eastman, and Chuck Rotundo of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Jim Paul Poole of Uvalda; three grandchildren, Jamie Glisson, Valana Rotundo, and Malena Weeks; great-grandchildren, Dustin Weeks, Dalton Weeks, Andrew Weeks, Charlotte Weeks Williams, and Nicholas Burckard; great-great-grandchildren, Delilah Leach, Lily Rose Weeks, Parklyn Weeks, Keegan Peebles, and Kinsley Weeks; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside funeral service will be Saturday, August 10th, at 12:00 noon at Dead River Cemetery with her nephew, Tommy Poole officiating.
