Marlon Joan Roberts

Marlon Joan Roberts, age 92, of Vidalia, died Friday, May 30, 2025, at The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia following an extended illness.  She was a native of Gadsden, Alabama, later moving to Atlanta, and graduated from Hoke Smith High School in 1951 where she played basketball.  While in Atlanta, she worked as a pharmacy tech for Holland & Knight Pharmacy and was a member of the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association.  She moved to Vidalia in 1994, and she worked as a secretary at Page’s Construction of Vidalia and as a preschool teacher at Time for Tots at First Baptist Church of Vidalia.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidalia and the Redeemed Sunday School Class.  She is preceded in death by her parents, James Euras Roberts and Mamie Leek Roberts; an aunt who raised her, Eliza Roberts Ware; two brothers, J.E. Roberts and Bobby Joe Roberts; and former husband, William “Ralph” Roberts.

Her family includes two children, Vikki Roberts Lupatin and husband Mike of Valrico, Florida, and Brett David Roberts of Vidalia; two grandchildren, Dana Roberts Brown and husband Thomas of Vidalia, and David Roberts of Augusta; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor-Katherine Brown and Tucker Brown.

The funeral service will be Sunday afternoon, June 1st, 2025, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Don Moye officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
