Mr. Mark Williams, age 56, of the Johnson Corner Community, died Tuesday, July 14, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a native of Toombs County and lived in Johnson Corner all of his life. He was a 1982 graduate of Toombs Central School. He was a Class B lineman and worked with Mastec Electric, Pike Electric and Lee Electric. He and wife were owners of Little Folks Farm in Johnson Corner. He was a master craftsman and woodworker. Because of his concern, interest, and love of his community, Mark started an annual fishing rodeo in 2014. He was a member of the Edmond Chapel Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Williams and Irene Davis Williams; and a brother, Timmy Williams.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Lisa Williams; two children, Amery Morgan, both of Johnson Corner, and Ashlynn Spikes and husband Landon of Vidalia; one sister, Leah Williams Carver and husband Dewayne; two brothers, Emory “Sambo” Williams of Johnson Corner, and Luke Williams of Alma; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 18th, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Owens officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from10:00 until just prior to the service.
