Marie S. Samples

Mrs. Marie S. Samples, age 92, of Lyons, died Friday, February 20, 2026, at her home following an extended illness. She was a native of Montgomery County, living in Treutlen County and in Telfair County for many years before moving to Lyons in 1962. She was dedicated to Foskey Tire in Vidalia and retired after forty-eight years as office manager. She was a member of Marietta Free Will Baptist Church in the Blue Ridge Community. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Otis Lee Samples; daughter, Allison Ann Samples; parents, Edward Salter and Algia Allison Moseley Salter; and two sisters, Aileen Salter and Edith Salter Padgett.

Mrs. Samples is survived by two sons, Blaine Samples and wife Sandra of Metter, and Glynn Samples and wife Connie of Lyons; six grandchildren, Cole Samples and wife Katey of Lyons, Jeremy Coe of Savannah, Casey Coley and husband Chris of Lyons, Lauren Samples of Savannah, Katie Roberts and husband Roy, and Matthew Samples, all of Metter; eight great-grandchildren, Anneston, Case, Ridge, Cash, Crue, Olivia, Cameron, and Beau; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday afternoon, February 22nd, 2026, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Murphy and Pastor Reece Mincey officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.

The family will assemble at the residence of a son, Glynn Samples, 4193 Hwy 56 East, Lyons.
