Mrs. Margaret Marie Phelps Rogers, age 77, of Glenwood, died Friday, August 30, 2024, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia, after a brief illness. She was a native of Wichita Falls, Texas and lived most of her life in Montgomery and Wheeler Counties. She worked at a nursing home in Wichita Falls and later was a homemaker. She was loving and accepting of people of all walks of life and a wonderful caregiver to her son. She was the matriarch of her family and attended Church of God churches. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, cane pole fishing, playing games on her phone, and true crime documentaries. She especially loved visits from family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Walter Rogers; sons, Tony Jackson and Roger Dale Jackson, Sr.; parents, Moses Phelps and Zelma Marie Davis; and a brother, Jack Lee Stewart Phelps.
Her family includes her children, Clayton Keith Phelps and wife Tammy of Johnson Corner, Ricky D. Jackson and wife Lorna of Tallahassee, Florida, Little David Thomas Jackson of Johnson Corner, Walter Rogers of South Carolina, Ricky Rogers and wife Judith of Montgomery County, Randy Rogers and wife Cathy of Soperton, Ronald Rogers and wife Tracy of Montgomery County, Belinda Whirey of Montgomery County, and Beverly O’Conner of Soperton; daughter-in-law, Angel Johnson; one brother, Raymond Glen Phelps of Dublin; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 1st at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.
