Mrs. Lula Mae McGowan Patrick, age 69, of the Normantown Community, died Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after a brief illness. She was a native of Toombs County and a 1975 graduate of Vidalia High School. She worked at Meadows Memorial Hospital in Vidalia for several years and retired after nearly thirty years from Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia. She was a member of Victory Fellowship - Lyons Church of God of Prophecy, and when she was young, she would often sing in church with her family; and she enjoyed listening to southern Gospel music, especially the Inspirations. She loved animals and watching cartoons, especially Scooby Doo. She enjoyed word puzzles and had a knack for remembering special dates like birthdays and anniversaries. She also loved sitting on her porch watching her cats play and listening to her wind chimes.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Dale Patrick; parents, John Cleo McGowan and Mary Elizabeth Clifton McGowan; brother, Johnny McGowan; and an infant sibling.
Mrs. Patrick is survived by two sons, Jason Patrick, of Normantown, and Dr. Kevin Patrick and his wife Kassy of Muncie, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Clay Patrick; Austin Patrick and Jordan Patrick, both of Normantown; Mila Patrick, of Clinton, Mississippi; and Judah Patrick, Owen Patrick, and her namesake, Lula Mae Patrick, all of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home on Monday evening, July 6th from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday morning, July 7th, 2026, at 10:00 at Victory Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Mike Poppell officiating. Interment will follow at Ruth’s Chapel Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Elisha Turner, Tucker Bryant, Turner Bryant, Dan Patrick, Steve Patrick, and Daniel Patrick.
