Lucindy (Allmond) Hightower

Mrs. Lucindy Allmond Hightower, age 100, of the Kibbee Community, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and was a 1936 graduate of Montgomery County High School.  She was a homemaker, had been a member of Ruth’s Chapel United Methodist Church since 1941 and served as church pianist for twenty-eight years.  She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, Milledge Hightower; a daughter, Sara Ruth Hightower Hall; parents, Charles Roney Allmond and Mary Lucinda Adams Allmond; two sisters, Muriel Wilkes and Hazel Thigpen; and a brother, J.E. Allmond.

Mrs. Hightower is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane Ricketts and husband Bill of Luray, Virginia; two sisters, Patsy Campbell and Dorothy Atkins of Montgomery County; two grandchildren, including Jacinda Lamb and husband Lamar of Kibbee; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, February 14th, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Brian Durden officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ruth’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Bill Lee.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
