Mrs. Lucille “Lucy” Braddy Watson, age 98, of Mt. Vernon, died Monday, November 15, 2021, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was born February 27, 1923, to the late Willie Braddy and Lucille Walker Braddy, and she was lifelong resident of Montgomery County. She retired from Woolrich as a supervisor and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She is preceded in death by two husbands, Thomas Walter “Tom” Watson and Jim Orr; a son, Harold Watson; siblings, Emma Lee Hall, Edward Braddy, H.C. Braddy, Hyman Braddy, Wyman Braddy, James Braddy, Jeanette Braddy, H.T. Braddy, Aubrey Braddy, and Peggy McCall.
Her family includes one son, Marvin Watson and wife Betty; one grandson, Stacy Watson, all of Mt. Vernon; two sisters-in-law, Janet Braddy of the Kibbee Community, and Joyce Braddy of Jacksonville, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 18th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Karl Hay officiating. Burial will follow in the Braddy Cemetery.
