Louise Carey Obituary

Mrs. Louise S. Carey, age 75, of Glenwood, died Monday, January 22, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia, following a brief illness.  She was born March 28, 1948, in Screven, Georgia, to the late William Calvin Spivey and Audrey Moore Spivey.  She grew up in Ware County, living in Jacksonville, Florida and Mt. Vernon for a few years, and lived in Glenwood most of her life.  She worked at Conner Nursing Home in Glenwood and retired after twenty-five years.  She was a member of Mt. Vernon Pentecostal Church, and she enjoyed cooking, yard work, and playing Tiger Woods Golf.  She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, EW Carey; an infant daughter, Tina Louise Carey; daughter Wanda F. Carey; and two sisters, Dorothy F. Morrison and Judy Ann Graves.

Her family includes two sons, Andy Carey and wife Michelle of Glenwood, and Anthony Carey and wife Holly; bonus son, Chris Butler, all Dublin; seven grandchildren, Eli Carey and wife Denise of Lyons, Eric Carey and wife Kati of Dublin, Kevin Carey and wife Whitley of Glenwood, Krystin Fountain of Glenwood, Zack Carey of Chauncey, Claudia Carey of Uvalda, and Cain Carey of Dublin; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Graves of the McNatt Falls Community; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be Saturday morning, February 3rd, 2024, at 11:00 at Mt. Vernon Pentecostal Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Vernon Pentecostal Church, 1802 North Railroad Ave., Mt. Vernon, GA 30445.
