Lou (Kimbrell) Perkins

Mrs. Lou K. Perkins, age 82, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018, in the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, after a brief illness.  She was a native of Irwin County, a graduate of Norman Park High School in Colquitt County, and has lived in Vidalia since 1956.  Lou was secretary at Lyons Junior High School for several years, retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Vidalia, and was the owner of Archway Florist and Boutique in Vidalia.  She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church and more recently attended the Edmond Chapel Church of God in Johnson Corner.  She was a member of the Georgia Power Ambassador Club.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Melvin Kimbrell and Mary Ella Young Kimbrell; three sisters, Grace Prather, Joyce Cooper, and Ruby Swanson; and five brothers, Olin Kimbrell, Thomas Kimbrell, Herbert Kimbrell, Alton Kimbrell, and Hubert Kimbrell.

Mrs. Perkins is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Ralph Perkins of Vidalia; two children, Eddie Perkins of Vidalia and Deidre Perkins McLeod and husband Bill of Sarasota, Florida; one sister, Gladys Kimbrell Usry of Americus; and hundreds of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 30th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Swanson and Pastor Tracy Swanson officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
