Mrs. Lois Kathryn Pittman, age 83, of Johnson Corner, died Sunday, October 29, 2023, at The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Cheyenne, Wyoming and lived in Johnson Corner most of her life. She retired from Altamaha EMC as bookkeeper and attended Rocky Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, eating Little Debbie Donut Sticks, eating out, and going shopping at Goodwill and Salvation Army with her great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Harvey “PeeWee” Pittman; and her parents, Lester McCard and Florence Catherine Kremer McCard.
Her family includes two sons, Dennis Pittman and wife Amy, and Derwin Pittman, all of Johnson Corner; two brothers, Milton McCard and wife Barbara, and Dwain McCard, all of Cheyenne, Wyoming; one sister, Maxine Weber and husband Joe of Cheyenne Wyoming; one sister-in-law, Gale Brewer of Johnson Corner; three grandchildren, Rebecca Byrd of Reidsville, Andy Hearn and wife Misty of Johnson Corner, and Victoria Autry and husband Jeffrey of Reidsville; six great-grandchildren, Brandon Byrd, Declan Byrd, Kahlie Hutcheson, Kaylie Hutcheson, Kinzleigh Autry and Harvey James Autry.
A graveside memorial service will be Friday morning, November 3rd, at 11:00 at Harden’s Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Joe Phillips officiating.
