Ms. Lisa Beasley Smith, age 53, of Cedar Crossing, died Saturday, February 8, 2020, in Memphis, Tennessee, from injuries received in a pedestrian accident. She lived in Toombs County most of her life and had resided in Memphis for the past four years. She was a 1984 graduate of Toombs Central High and attended Lyons Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her two fathers, Mark Beasley and Reverend Henry Dowd and her mother, Doris.
Ms. Smith is survived by two children, Heather Smith and Jacob Cruz of Memphis, and Christopher Smith of Lyons; her mother, Esther Dowd; brothers, Drayton Dowd and wife Kathy, Marvin Dowd and wife Shirley, all of Cedar Crossing, Clayton Dowd and wife Wendy of Jesup, James Hughes, Donny Hickman, Ricky Hickman and Wayne Hickman; three sisters, Lenora Johnson, Dorothy Ivester and Frankie Price, all of Florida; nine grandchildren, Alexus, Desmond, Hannah, Johnathan, Jacob, Abigail, Rodney, Starr and Blaze; a special cousin, Danny Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 14th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Toole and Pastor Clayton Dowd officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Crossing Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
