Linda Batay Faircloth

Linda Batay Faircloth, age 79, of Vidalia, died Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia surrounded by her children, Edward and Penny, following an extended illness. She was born on March 19, 1946 in Cocoa Beach, Florida, graduated high school there in 1964, and moved to Montgomery County, living in the Vidalia area the rest of her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eunice Horne and B.L. Wilcox; one brother, Wayne Stacks of Glenwood; and grandparents, R.L. and Marcelous Hand of Baxley.

Linda will be remembered for her kind and loving spirit, and the love she had for her family. If you knew Linda, her favorite place was Wal-mart, she could walk those aisles for days and never get tired. She enjoyed going to horse shows, Elvis Presley, gospel sings, lunch on Thursdays with the “girls”, and, she especially enjoyed going on her first cruise last year.

She is survived by two children, Charles “Edward” Batay, Jr. of Vidalia, and Penny Batay Cranford and husband Michael of Reidsville; three grandchildren, Siarra Calhoun of Glennville, Dalton McCumber and fiancé Maddie Rockwood, and Austin Cranford, all of Reidsville; two great-grandchildren, Kavari and Kaspen Cooper; one sister, Louise Edge of Vidalia; her friend of many years, Julie Screws; close family friend, Teresa Batay, both of Vidalia; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday afternoon, March 17th, 2026, at 4:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Plowman officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 until just prior to the service.
