Mrs. Lethules Pharia “Thules” Stone Barnard, age 93, of Lyons, died Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Oxley Park Health & Rehab in Lyons, following an extended illness. She was a native of DeLand, Florida, and she lived in central and south Florida most of her life before moving to Lyons again two years ago. She was a homemaker and home nursing assistant, caring for the elderly in their home. She was Pentecostal by faith and former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed shopping, going to flea markets and the beach, fishing, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by three husbands, Jack Walker, Freddy DeMerrit, and Darvel Leland “Tramp” Barnard; three sons, Leland J. Barnard, Cephas Barnard, and Charlie Barnard; parents, Charlie Louington Stone and Esda Ethel Carter Stone; and nine siblings.
Her family includes four children, Lestus Walker of Clewiston, Florida, Penny Walker of Crystal Springs, Florida, Madie Donahoe and husband Dennis of Gastonia, North Carolina, and Jonathan “Johnny” Barnard and wife Maureen of Lyons; one sister, Aquila Finch Shaw of Orlando, Florida; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial service will be held later in Florida.
