Leslie J. Short

Miss Leslie J. Short, age 68, of Augusta, died Monday, April 6, 2026, at The Oak Bethany in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Richmond County, growing up in Augusta, and lived there until moving to Vidalia in 2025. She was a homemaker, a member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church in Augusta; and she enjoyed crafts and sewing. She is preceded in death by her father, Howard Stanley Short.

She is survived by her mother, Mary “Betty” Thompson Short of Augusta; two sisters, Syrie Short Legersky and husband Tom of Apollo, Pennsylvania, and Laura Burcham and husband Greg of Jacksonville, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday afternoon, April 15, 2026, at 2:00 at Graniteville Cemetery in Graniteville, South Carolina.
