Leroy "Cowboy" Pittman, Jr.

Mr. Leroy “Cowboy” Pittman, Jr., age 66, of Vidalia, died Friday March 14th 2025, at Wellstar MCG in Augusta after a sudden illness.  He was born in Atlanta, raised in Jacksonville, Florida and Vidalia, and has lived in Vidalia since 1998.  He was an automotive mechanic all of his life, working in Jacksonville and locally at Vidalia Ford and at Woody Folsom.  He attended Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons, and he enjoyed yard work decorating for Christmas and taking care of his animals.  Two children, Patrick Pittman and Jennifer Pittman; and his father, Leroy Pittman, Sr., precede him in death.

His family includes four children, Sherri Pittman Godwin and husband Heath of Altha, Florida, Maressa Pittman Klein and husband Jason of Vidalia, Jordan Pittman of Macon, Leandra Klotzbach of Jacksonville; his mother Mitzi Canuette Pittman of Jacksonville; two sisters, Sheila Sams and Suzanne Doyle; two brothers, Johnny Pittman and wife Cindy, and Timmy Pittman and wife Connie all of Jacksonville; ten grandchildren, Bridgette, Emma, Brayden, Michael, Patrick, Millie Grace, Jensen, Mia Aria, and Eli; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 until 3:00.

The funeral service will be Saturday March 22nd, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Plowman officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.  Continuing to celebrate "Cowboy's" life, there will be a gathering of family and friends at the Vidalia Community Center, immediately following the service.
