Ms. Lavon Floyd Trulock, age 66 of Vidalia, died Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after an extended illness. Born in Atlanta on September 28, 1955, she grew up in Mt. Vernon, and attended Montgomery County High School. She lived most of her life in Mt. Vernon, Vidalia and in Collins for twenty-two years. She served in the Army National Guard, worked at Glenwood Nursing Home, waitressed and drove a taxi. She was a member of Oasis Church of God in Lyons. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs. Preceding her in death was her son, Shawn Floyd; and parents, Sydney Frank Floyd, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth White Floyd.
Her family includes two grandchildren, Jade Floyd of Dublin, and Rome Floyd of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Allen Floyd and wife Susan of Lyons, and Danny Floyd and wife Debbie of Roberta; and nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be Monday, April 4th, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with Bishop Gilbert Wommack officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:30 until 10:30.
