Mr. Larry W. Edenfield, age 84, of Vidalia, died Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after a brief illness. He was a native of Toombs County and lived in Vidalia most of his life. He was a 1959 graduate of Vidalia High School. He retired in 1992, after thirty-four years as an engineer from the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a former member of Grace Church in Vidalia and a former long-time member of the Vidalia Lions Club where Larry served as the club treasurer for many years. He loved the outdoors, fishing, being on the farm, riding his Gator, and spending all the time he could with his family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walton Bernice “W.B” Edenfield and Myrtie Mae Holmes Edenfield; and his sister, Shirley Edenfield Fisher.
Larry is survived by his devoted wife of sixty-four years, Loretha Phillips Edenfield; two children, Tracey Edenfield Lovelace and husband Tim, and Chris Edenfield and wife Tammy, all of Vidalia; two grandchildren, Paul Lovelace and wife Jennifer of Newnan, and Allison Edenfield and wife Maegan of North Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Carson Lovelace and Harper Lovelace; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday morning, December 16th, 2025, at 11:00 at Pine Crest Cemetery with Pastor Brian Durden officiating.
