Larry Davis Obituary

Mr. Larry Davis, originally from Vidalia, Georgia, passed away on January 29th, 2026, at his home in Yulee, Florida. He was born on December 8th, 1942, to Flora Sammons and O.C. Davis. He grew up in Vidalia and graduated from Toombs Central High School in 1961. After high school, Larry pursued further education at Americus Trade School where he focused on electrical work. After trade school, he worked several odd jobs, often for electrical companies. During this time period, he and his first wife, Wilma, welcomed their son, Larry Dean, to the world on January 25th, 1964. He would later go on to complete a 4-year apprenticeship as an electrician for St. John’s River Power Plant where he worked until retirement, making many, many friends along the way.

Larry was an exceptional electrician, but he was also well known for his love of race cars and could often be found at tracks like Jax Raceway, where he raced his own car. He and his second wife, Ms. Betty Davis, were also accomplished real estate investors, owning up to 30 properties at one point. Larry was also a generous man, regularly donating to charities of all varieties.

Larry was a well-known and respected member of IBEW Local 177 electrical union. Even after retirement, he would continue to attend their Christmas and retirement parties.

Larry leaves behind his second wife, Betty Davis, whom he shared 54 years of marriage; his son, Larry Dean of Atlanta; daughter, Ginger Eubanks of Bryceville, Florida; two brothers, Steve Davis of Valdosta and Wayne Davis of Vidalia; two grandsons, Alex Boshart and Daniel Hilbrant of Jacksonville, Florida; and two great-grandsons, Oliver and Jasper.

The family will receive friends at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home on Friday afternoon, February 6th, 2026, from 1:00 until 2:30, followed by a graveside funeral service at Lakeview Memorial Gardens at 3:00pm. He will be laid to rest next to his mom and dad.
